His most recent experience, Managing Director of a development and construction firm. He also established the regional office of PP&A (a consulting firm) in Mayagüez, where he spent 3 1/2 years as managing director. Before that time, he spent his career working for Eli Lilly Company in various responsibilities. Eli Lilly experiences ranged from engineering, environmental, maintenance and production operation of capsules manufacturing. Over five years working in Indiana, USA, providing engineering and environmental support to Eli Lilly's Canadian and Latin American affiliates. Other experiences include several years as a project engineer. His background also includes development, design, and construction of several housing projects in Mayagüez. Civil engineer: license 8855, Surveyor: license 5222. Mr. Hernández has over 30 years experience in the civil construction and surveyor field. He has completed specialized graduated studies in Ocean Engineering from the University of Miami in Florida. His work experience includes the insallation of the PRASA Waste Treatment Plant ocean Outfall in the Mayagüez Bay (for the Hilly Tibbitts Co.); resident engineer for a solid waste disposal facility ($6 MM) project for Dade county in Florida; planning, design and inspection of several housing projects in Puerto Rico.
